Built in 1840 by James Tasker of Claremont, New Hampshire, and also called the Downers bridge, this span is distinctive for the Greek Revival detailing on its gable ends and for a surviving dry-laid stone abutment praised as some of the finest stonework on any Vermont bridge. It was in poor condition when listed in 1973, was raised about two and a half feet in 1975 to keep floodwater out, and underwent a complete reconstruction in 2008.
