Called the Third Bridge locally, this is the uppermost of the three covered bridges strung along Cox Brook Road at Northfield Falls, all built about 1872. Like its neighbors it is a red-painted queen post span, and in 1966 four steel beams were added beneath it for strength. Standing in its portal, a visitor can look down the road through the Lower Cox Brook bridge toward the Station Bridge over the Dog River.
