This bridge, attributed to Nicholas M. Powers, was built in 1850 over East Creek a few yards from an 1849 bridge, after a flood cut a new channel in the creek; the two near-identical spans, standing about 15 feet apart, became the Twin Bridges. When the East Pittsford dam burst in 1947, the flood destroyed the older twin, and the survivor was hauled up onto dry land and replaced by a modern bridge. Boarded up and used as a storage shed by the town highway department, it still sits beside East Pittsford Road; a plan announced in 2003 to move it to a recreation park as a pedestrian bridge was never carried out.
