Known as the Upper Bridge because it is the upstream of Charlotte's two Lewis Creek crossings, this Burr arch bridge was built about 1850 by an unknown builder, very likely the same hand as Quinlan's Bridge downstream. A town sign spells the name 'Seguin' for the family that owned land around it, but the National Register recorded it as 'Sequin,' and the misspelling has spread widely. It is one of only nine 19th-century Burr arch bridges in Vermont. After repairs in 1949 and 1994 and a new roof in 2001, it underwent a major rehabilitation beginning in 2016, when inspectors found extensive insect damage in its timbers.
