Also called the Wilder Bridge, this small king post span is one of only two surviving 19th-century king post covered bridges in Vermont and one of two surviving covered bridges in Waitsfield. By the mid-1970s it had deteriorated so far that posts were wedged into the streambed to prop it up. Restorer Milton Graton rebuilt it in 1976-77, placing steel beams just beneath the deck as a fail-safe for overloads rather than altering the historic trusses, an approach meant to preserve the bridge's authenticity. It is also a contributing property of the Mad River Valley Rural Historic District.
