This is Danville's only surviving 19th-century covered bridge, set in the hollow named for Benjamin Greenbank, whose woolen mill once made this a busy small village. A fire in 1885 leveled the mill and most of the settlement, and the village was never rebuilt, leaving foundations and a historic site around the bridge. The span is slightly skewed because its two queen post trusses differ in length by about a foot and a half. After years of added steel support, it was rebuilt in 2002 as a true truss-supported covered bridge and reopened that December.
