Built in 1879 of spruce lumber and named for a nearby creamery, this is Brattleboro's last surviving 19th-century covered bridge. A covered sidewalk was added around 1917-1920, a sign of how busy the crossing already was. It carried traffic until 2010, when it was bypassed by a modern bridge and retired to pedestrian and picnic use beside Living Memorial Park.
