Built in 1870 by Granville Leland and Dennis Allen over Great Brook in North Springfield on the road to Baltimore, this small Town lattice bridge was closed in 1967 after its carrying timbers twisted badly. A restoration committee headed by former U.S. Senator Ralph E. Flanders had it restored under Milton S. Graton and moved in 1970 to sit beside the Eureka Schoolhouse, Vermont's oldest one-room schoolhouse. It is now a state-owned historic site, preserved on dry land for pedestrians.
