π¬ One of Vermont's great historic inns, The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm was built in 1793 as the home of Colonel Joseph Marsh, Vermont's first lieutenant governor β and it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the 22 guest rooms and 3 suites keep their 19th-century character: Queen Anne furnishings, period antiques, wide pine floors, plus private baths, WiFi, and air conditioning. There's a fine dining restaurant, fresh-baked cookies each afternoon, and a wood-burning fireplace in the common room. Views reach Dewey's Mill Pond and the Ottauquechee River, with hiking trails on the property and Woodstock about ten minutes away.
