πŸ’¬ Judy Dow is a nationally known Abenaki educator, basket weaver, and guardian of Indigenous culture who has taught traditional practices for over 35 years. Of Winooski Abenaki and French-Canadian descent, she brings a Native lens to reading the land β€” teaching science, history, and math through art, basketry, and beading. She's executive director of Gedakina, supporting Indigenous youth and families across New England, and her baskets have been exhibited from the Smithsonian to England, Poland, and Romania. A recipient of the Governor's Heritage Award and the Vermont Arts Council's Arthur Williams Award, Judy gives visibility to lost voices and hidden histories, one woven basket at a time.
